| Zusammenfassung: | Social skills are considered a source of well-being for the evolutionary development of children, it will allow them to develop in an adequate way when relating with their peers’ students, so that they acquire meaningful learning in healthy and safe environments, these are observable behaviors of their own, where they are modified and modulated as they relate to each other. For this reason, the research focuses on determining how cooperative games improve social skills in children of initial level II at Dr. Edison Calle Loaiza Basic Education School, using a quasi-experimental research design in the study sample; the mixed approach used allowed to analyze, finding out and collecting both qualitative and quantitative information, its scope was descriptive, the methods used were inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic, present in the development of the research. To corroborate the information, observation was used as a technique, and the SENA test (Evaluation System for Children and Adolescents) was used as an instrument, which evaluated the social skills of children from 4 to 5 years old, obtaining that 89.6% faced difficulties when relating with their peers, sharing, maintaining a conversation, being empathetic, respecting their turn, practicing the rules of coexistence, following instructions and expressing their feelings or emotions; after the application of activities based on cooperative games, it was possible to reduce the percentage to 30%. In conclusion, the effectiveness of cooperative games can be corroborated, since they allow children to acquire their social skills in a natural and efficient way.
