| Streszczenie: | In an oncologic patient, compliance with chemotherapy is important for the success of the treatment, since the continuity of this contributes to achieve the remission of the disease and to avoid relapses, however, not all patients fully comply. It is very important to emphasize that the cytotoxic drugs are strong that can physically deteriorate the patient, therefore, needs to be administered gradually so that the patient recovers for the next cycle. The present study is transversal and descriptive type, for which a data collection guide was used, with the information of 133 clinical histories of cancer patients, in order to determine the frequency of withdrawal of the chemotherapeutic treatment. The results show that 41% of patients abandoned the therapeutic treatment. The factors associated with this are the adverse effects that occur after the therapeutic administration, the most experienced is constipation in 17%, followed by anorexia with 16%, and 14% have vomit. Minimal percent present alopecia, pain, neutropenia, mucositis, diarrhea and neuropathy. The socioeconomic level is not very significant for that abandonment, of which 27% constitute the age group (41-60 years), with a secondary education level of 23%, the majority of which are female, 22% and minority occurs in people who live in the urban area, occupying housewives and marital status.
