总结:Diabetes mellitus is the second cause of mortality worldwide and its main characteristic is hyperglycemia, the treatment alternatives are varied both at the pharmacological level and measures aimed at improving the style and quality of life; the lifestyle is defined as patterns of behavior chosen from available alternatives and that can affect the health of patients; the quality of life encompasses the personal well-being of an individual, with respect to positive and negative elements, this can be diminished with the evolution and symptoms that affect the health status. The objective of the research is to determine the style and quality of life in patients with a diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus type 2. Therefore, a quantitative, descriptive, crosssectional study was developed in Health Center No. 1 - Loja, having a population of 315 patients, with the participation of 65 of them, where the Lifestyle-IMEVID instrument and questionnaire on quality-of-life Diabetes-39 were applied, obtaining that 53.85% of the population belongs to the male sex, 32.31% are between 51 and 60 years old; 43.07% have suffered from the disease for 6 to 10 years. Regarding lifestyle, 60% of the patients were unfavorable and finally 92.69% had a worse quality of life; It was confirmed that there is a statistically significant relationship between an unfavorable and unfavorable lifestyle with a worse quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus; Therefore, it is important to control the disease in addition to the support of the family unit, which contributes to maintaining adequate management of the disease
