الملخص:The present curricular integration work, prior to obtaining the title of Lawyer, is titled: "Implementation of the penitentiary model of the Republic of El Salvador in Ecuador to prevent conflicts among incarcerated individuals." It specifically focuses on the experience of El Salvador, which has implemented a penitentiary approach oriented towards rehabilitation, promoting social reintegration, achieving positive results, and reducing violence in prisons. The Constitution of El Salvador guarantees human security through integrated policies and actions. However, the question arises as to whether these policies are effectively implemented in the penitentiary system. Unlike El Salvador, Ecuador faces a crisis in its prison system, with high levels of violence, deaths, and a lack of effective control. The justification is based on the urgency to improve the Ecuadorian prison system and prevent conflicts among inmates. The Salvadoran model stands out for its innovative approach to rehabilitation, including education, job training, mental health, and social reintegration. Therefore, the aim is to support the adoption of the Salvadoran model in Ecuador as a comprehensive strategy to improve the prison system, reduce violence, and contribute to a safer society. Additionally, the study aims to thoroughly analyze the characteristics and results of the Salvadoran penitentiary model, evaluating its applicability in Ecuador. Throughout this curricular integration project, various resources, methodologies, and approaches were employed, detailed in the corresponding proposal, specifically through interviews and surveys with legal professionals. Through the analysis and interpretation of the theoretical framework and statistical data from Ecuador, a country with a population of 17 million and a prison population of 39,000 individuals across 53 prisons, it is evident that the prison system, with a total capacity of around 30,000 individuals, currently houses nearly 10,000 additional people. This disparity led to the identification of the need to propose legal solutions as a result of this study.
