| Sažetak: | In the current business context in Ecuador, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plan stands as a vitally important element; in line with the evolution of labor practices in the country, which has consolidated a growing awareness of worker protection and the promotion of safe and healthy work environments. This transformation is reflected in both labor legislation and corporate social responsibility. A properly designed plan not only mitigates the risks of occupational accidents and illnesses, but also boosts productivity, reduces the costs associated with work-related incidents and strengthens the company's reputation. These are the reasons for implementing an Occupational Health and Safety Plan. The objective of this research refers to the design of an occupational health and safety plan for the company "Barricada Design". This plan was conceived with the purpose of identifying and analyzing the risks and challenges in the work environment of "Barricada Design", which provided the necessary information for the development of the plan that is oriented to the prevention of incidents, the improvement of working conditions and the strengthening of the safety culture. The research has a qualitative approach, with a descriptive exploratory level. An exhaustive exploration was carried out to identify risks related to each activity in the company's facilities. From this identification, the risk levels were evaluated and the nature of the problems identified was described, serving as an essential guide for the formulation of the plan. To achieve the objectives, techniques such as observation, interview and survey were used, and to obtain the information, instruments such as observation guides applied in the company, questionnaires addressed to workers and interviews with the manager were used. With the data obtained, comparative tables and matrices were developed that summarized both the positive aspects and the areas requiring improvement in terms of safety and health. These instruments facilitated a complete and accurate assessment of the situation, providing the necessary basis for the formulation of the occupational health and safety plan. Positive aspects were identified, such as: a young and skilled workforce, well-managed semi-industrial machinery, a healthy work environment and basic safety systems in place. On the other hand, critical challenges were identified, such as lack of training, lack of knowledge of labor regulations, a high incidence of accidents, and the absence of emergency practices. In addition, poor maintenance of equipment and tools, ergonomic problems and working conditions in need of improvement were observed. The evaluation of "Barricada Design" highlights the urgency of addressing these specific challenges. In conclusion, the development of this research work has achieved the established objectives in a comprehensive manner. First, a state of the art was designed to provide a solid 5 basis for the development of the rest of the objectives. Based on this state of the art, the second objective was developed, which consisted in the analysis of the current situation of the company through the application of different information gathering instruments. The information collected allowed the third objective to be met, which is the design of an occupational health and safety plan for Barricada Design. |
