Low birth weight is a public health problem in Ecuador, as increases newborn morbidity and mortality and can lead to pathologies in the adult. As a general objective, it was proposed: To determine the most important maternal socio-demographic factors of low birth weight newborns at the Hospital Isidro Ayora de Loja, in 2015.
