Complicaciones maternas-neonatales asociadas a preeclampsia en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital San Vicente de Paul de Pasaje.

Preeclampsia is a multisystem disorder of unknown etiology that is part of a spectrum of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, which are a major cause of maternal death in Ecuador and in most Latin American countries; for this reason the present research was carried out with the theme, "MATERNAL-NEONATAL COMPLICATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH PREECLAMPSIA IN PATIENTS TREATED AT SAN VICENTE DE PAUL DE PASAJE..", the objectives of this research were: To determine maternal complications, to meet the neonatal complications, and to identify the preeclampsia level that occurs more frequently in pregnant patients treated at the San Vicente de Paul Hospital. The study was retrospective-transversal-descriptive. The information was obtained from the medical records of the hospitalized pregnant patients diagnosed with preeclampsia, with a sample of 40 cases, the following results were obtained: 90% (n=36) have the diagnosis of mild preeclampsia and 10% (n = 4) have a diagnosis of severe preeclampsia; 100% had no maternal complications; while in neonates 65% (n = 26) had no complications; 35% (n = 14) had complications, the same as 54.4% (n = 13) were premature, 44.3% (n = 10) had respiratory distress syndrome; finally 4.3% (n = 1) had intrauterine growth restriction. Thus, through this study research we can conclude that there were no maternal complications that endanger the life of the mother; and that the complications in infants of preeclamptic mothers were mild, likewise there were no neonatal death.
