Levantamiento geológico-estructural de la vía Chicaña-El Oso, parroquia Chicaña, cantón Yantzaza, provincia de Zamora Chinchipe.

The present project was developed to carry out a geological-structural survey of the Chicaña-El Oso Road, Chicaña parish, Yantzaza canton, Zamora Chinchipe province, through the generation of topography, the determination of lithological units and structural characteristics, in order to obtain a map of the study areas at a scale 1:10,000 It includes a detailed lithological and structural study, which revealed the formation environments, metamorphosis characteristics and the tectonics of 3 regional units outcropping in the study area. Comprising Napo Formations, Plan del Oso Unit and the Intrusive Complex of Zamora The geology that crosses the road of the study is characterized by a sequence that begins with the intensely deformed metamorphic rock of the Precambrian Plan del Oso Unit, which has inserted magnetic pulses of Granite that also cross the Zamora intrusive Complex, reports an age of 210 M. a. in its outcropped parts it is weathered and crumbly, crossed by andesitic dykes, and to the north of the study area, it is overlain by the sedimentary sequences of the Oriental basin. From this sequence emerges the Napo formation of the cretaceous, and includes shales and limestone, resting in concordance on the Hollín formation of which no outcrop was found, covered by the alluvial deposits of the quaternary. With all the information collected, a geological-structural map of the Chicaña-El Oso road was obtained, with an extension of 10.8 km and a 250m, strip of road on each side of the axis.
