Summary:Suicidal ideation represents all those negative ideas or passive thoughts of wanting to be dead that are generally not accompanied by preparatory acts, they are a prelude to suicidal behavior or consummated suicide as such, making it a serious problem that must be treated in a special way during adolescence, because at this stage there is difficulty coping with the stress of daily life and they see suicide as an alternative solution to their problems. In addition, at this stage, resilience plays an important role, because it prepares adolescents with suicidal ideation to face adversity, to get ahead without their psychological and emotional well-being and quality of life being affected. In itself, resilience strengthens them and prepares them for the later stages of their development. That is why the importance of the current work is highlighted, whose main objective is to establish the relationship between the levels of suicidal ideation and resilience in adolescents of the “Unidad Educativa del Milenio Bernardo Valdivieso”, 2021-2022 school year. The design of the research is quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional, in which 390 adolescent students participated, that were evaluated using the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation, allowing the determination of the sample of 97 students with suicidal ideation, to who a second instrument was applied, it was the Wagnild and Young’s Resilience Scale. In conclusion, this research paper showed that although low levels of suicidal ideation and resilience are maintained is important to protect adolescent mental health to avoid future conflict situations that threaten their emotional stability.
