| Čoahkkáigeassu: | This study describes the imaging diagnosis and endovascular treatment of 19 patients that carry a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM). During the study it was pretended to describe the diagnostic process of the AVM and by doing so; to detail de angioarchitecture and hemodynamics of the lesion; this data was correlated with the possibility to perform endovascular embolization procedures to the AVM. The age of the patients ranged from 2 to 61 years old, and were diagnosed and treated between January of 2008 and December of 2009. Curative, presurgical and preradiation therapy embolizations were performed, using N-butyl cyanocrilate as embolization agent in all cases. Keywords: Brain arteriovenous malformation, AVM, embolization, NBCA. |
