Descripció
Sumari:Universities have used conventional teaching methods for many years, where students are not exposed to a practical component that reinforces their skills and consolidates their knowledge, which raises the need for a teaching alternative that aims to develop practical skills and provide knowledge acquisition from experiences developed based on real situations. In this context, the present quasi-experimental prospective cross-sectional cohort descriptive research work is carried out with the objective of implementing a simulation workshop based on the taking of Cervical Cytology for ninth cycle students of the Medicine career of the Universidad Nacional de Loja, for which a practical clinical guide and a video were elaborated as an educational resource, which were disseminated to students in a practical workshop implemented and executed, which complies with the format and objectives of the subject. After the workshop, the evaluation was applied to the participating students, obtaining as a result that 87 % of the students exceeded and mastered the knowledge about taking Cervical Cytology, while 13 % reached the required knowledge, concluding that the planning, execution and dissemination of educational resources, as well as the implementation of the clinical simulation workshop, developed and reinforced the knowledge in the participating students about/for the correct Cervical Cytology taking. Keywords: medical education, clinical simulation, medical students.
