الملخص:Salmonellosis is characterized as a zoonosis of great impact around the world, being a disease caused by different serotypes of the Salmonella genus. The intestine of domestic animals and humans is considered the main source of reservoir of this bacterium, in addition to its high capacity of survival and resistance in the environment. This study is focused on determine the presence and antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella spp. Pig feces were collected as clinical samples from 30 farms in the Loja canton, which were subjected to microbiological analysis for the biochemical identification of Salmonella spp. and antibacterial resistance profile. Additionally, 5 different antimicrobials were considered, Amoxicillin + A.clavulanic acid; Sulfa+Trimetropim; Ciprofloxacin; Enrofloxacin, Ampicillin + Sulbactam. The results showed the presence of the bacterium in only one farm, where it was present (3.33%), with the identification of resistance to Amoxicillin + A. clavulanic Enrofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, antibiotics commonly used in veterinary medicine.
