description In the Systems/Computer Engineering career at the National University of Loja (UNL), students after completing their third level studies often choose to continue their professional training with postgraduate programs. However, obtaining immediate information about it is tedious due to the long response times given by the administrative staff through email or social networks of the UNL. For such reason the following research question arises, "Will a Chatbot implemented with the BERT language model, help students and professionals to have an answer in front of the concerns about the postgraduate processes that occur in the Systems/Computing Career of the UNL?". In this context, the following objective was set, "To implement a Chatbot for the UNL Systems/Computing Career, using the BERT language model, which allows to solve the doubts of students and professionals about the processes that are governed before and during the postgraduate studies". The project was completed using the methodologies of Barbara Kitchenham and Extreme Programming (XP). The former allowed for a systematic literature review (SLR) to understand the functioning of the BERT model and the technologies needed for its training and adjustment. The second was used in the development of the web interface using the planning, design, coding and testing phases. During this process, a dataset was created with information on postgraduate studies, which was used to train the model (a version called DistilBERT was chosen), obtaining an accuracy of 89.2%. Subsequently, the chatbot architecture, programming and a series of tests were designed in an environment with students and professionals that allowed evaluating through a survey the acceptance of the virtual agent, obtaining a result of 83.9%, which affirmed that the chatbot was able to answer "all" the questions posed by the interested parties. Thus, it was concluded that the development of the virtual assistant using the BERT model can help students and professionals to a greater extent to solve their doubts regarding fourth level studies. Keywords: Conversational Agent, DistilBERT, BERT, Artificial Intelligence  En la carrera de Ingeniería en Sistemas/Computación de la Universidad Nacional de Loja (UNL), los estudiantes tras culminar sus estudios de tercer nivel suelen optar por continuar su formación profesional con programas de posgrados. Sin embargo, obtener información de forma inmediata respecto a ello es tedioso debido a los tiempos largos de respuesta que dan los administrativos a través del correo electrónico o las redes sociales (Instagram, Twitter y Facebook) de la UNL. Por tal motivo surge la siguiente pregunta de investigación, “¿Un Chatbot implementado con el modelo de lenguaje BERT, ayudará a los estudiantes y profesionales a tener una respuesta frente a las inquietudes sobre los procesos de posgrados que se dan en la Carrera de Sistemas/Computación de la UNL?”.En este contexto se planteó el siguiente objetivo, “Implementar un Chatbot para la Carrera de Sistemas/Computación de la UNL, utilizando el modelo de lenguaje BERT, que permita solventar las dudas de estudiantes y profesionales sobre los procesos que se rigen antes y durante los estudios de posgrados”. El proyecto se culminó empleando las metodologías de Bárbara Kitchenham y la programación extrema (XP). La primera permitió hacer una revisión sistemática de literatura (RSL) para conocer el funcionamiento del modelo BERT y las tecnologías necesarias a usar en el entrenamiento y ajuste. La segunda se utilizó en el desarrollo de la interfaz web utilizando las fases de planeación, diseño, codificación y pruebas. Durante este proceso se creó un dataset con información sobre los estudios de posgrados, que se usó para entrenar el modelo (se escogió una versión denominada DistilBERT) obteniendo una precisión de 89,2%. Posteriormente, se diseñó la arquitectura del chatbot, la programación y una serie de pruebas en un entorno con estudiantes y profesionales que permitieron evaluar a través de una encuesta la aceptación del agente virtual, obteniendo un resultado del 83,9%, valor que indicó que el chatbot fue capaz de responder “todas” las preguntas planteadas por los interesados. De esta forma, se concluyó que el desarrollo del asistente virtual usando el modelo BERT puede ayudar en mayor medida a estudiantes y profesionales a solventar sus dudas con respecto a los estudios de cuarto nivel.
