Análisis del conocimiento y actitud, acerca del uso de antibioticoterapia y sus complicaciones en los estudiantes de último año y planta docente de la carrera de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de Loja, periodo octubre 2021 – marzo 2022

Antibiotics are chemical substances produced from live microorganisms or through semisynthetic processes with the property of inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microsystems and eventually destroying them. The use of antibiotics can be associated with unfavourable side effects, as well as the excessive and irrational use of these drugs leads to antibiotic resistance. The objective of this descriptive cross-sectional study was to determine the level of knowledge and attitude of final year students and teachers of the Dental School of the National University of Loja. A virtual survey was applied to 83 participants amongst 66 students and 17 teachers, which consisted of 19 multiple choice questions, 12 knowledge questions. 6 attitude questions, and the last question that allowed the elaboration of a clinical protocol presented in the annexes section. There was evidence that students possess a moderated level of knowledge with 62,1%, while teachers have a good level corresponding to 70,6%. Likewise, regarding the degree of attitude, both students and teachers have a positive attitude level corresponding to 71,2% and 82,4% in each case; to conclude that the level of knowledge of the students is regular, while the teachers have a good level as, for the attitude, most of the participants have a positive attitude level
