Zusammenfassung:Ageing tends to make older adults more dependent, due to the appearance of many limitations caused by the passing of the years, age causes physical deterioration that can be delayed by maintaining the habit of practising physical exercise, always taking into account the limitations of each patient. Physical exercise in older adults has multiple advantages, not only on a physical level but also on a mental and emotional level, allowing them to face this stage of life with greater optimism. The main objective of the research on physical activity and emotional support in older adults in the project spaces for socialisation and meeting with food, was to determine the impact of physical activity as emotional support in older adults. The methodology applied in the research was mixed with a type of exploratory research, the instruments applied were the documentary review, focus groups and the proposal report, the data collected from the focus groups and the documentary review were emptied into tables and figures with the support of the Excel programme, the population comprised 34 older adults, As a result of the physiological evaluations by comparing dates, at the beginning of the project, 50% of the older adults entered with a regular functional physical condition, while during their stay in the project until 22/12/2023, 71% of the older adults managed to obtain a stable functional physical condition, Likewise, in relation to their psychological condition, a comparison between March and December shows that 79% of the older adults entered with a stable psychological condition, while up to December it is possible to corroborate this improvement by obtaining 100% of the population with a stable psychological condition. On the other hand, as a result of the focus groups it is evident that physical activity as emotional support in older adults has great benefits such as better cognitive function, helps them to reduce levels of anxiety and depression improving their self-esteem and confidence and therefore this generates a better quality of life, despite the various difficulties that prevent them from having a physically active life. The conclusion is that physical activity is beneficial for the physical and emotional health of older adults, helping to mitigate the risk of developing chronic non- communicable diseases, as well as improving their psychological, social and physiological condition for those who practice physical activity frequently and in a targeted manner.
