Sumari:The occupational risks of health workers represent the condition that professionals in their area of work are exposed. Therefore, the present research work had the following general objective, to determine occupational risks in the nursing staff of the "Julius Doepfner" Hospital in Zamora, for the design of occupational health promotion actions. The methodology used was oriented in a quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional section, the entire population was worked with 53 nursing professionals with support of the instrument called "Occupational risks in nursing professionals of the Zacarías Regional Hospital Correa Valdivia of Huancavelica", which contained 33 questions, which were divided into the following dimensions: biological, chemical, physical, psychosocial and ergonomic risk. The results show that the highest proportion of nursing personnel are women, their age range varies from 25 to 35 years, and regarding the years of work experience most of the staff retains between 1 and 10 years of work practice. On the other hand, the target population is exposed to infectious and contagious diseases; in the performing of their activities they are exposed to cleaning agents, other antiseptics; in the development of their occupation they are exposed to disturbing noise; the performance of their work causes them work stress, in addition to this, in the process of their work procedures they have to make movements and adopt forced postures that can cause them injuries; therefore, educational actions for the self-care of occupational health were proposed. Finally, as a conclusion it was possible to demonstrate the presence of occupational risks in each of its five dimensions in nursing personnel and at the same time the design of self-care actions aimed at improving occupational health was carried out
