Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:Infant feeding constitutes one of the public health issues of greatest interest, due to the alarming data found on child malnutrition and its impact on the integral development of children. It was proposed to describe the complementary feeding, to evaluate the physical-psychomotor development according to sex and age; and to establish the relationship between these variables in the children of the Growing with Our Children program of Espíndola, period 2019. A quantitative, prospective and cross-sectional study was carried out, consisting of 54 infants between 6-24 months of age. Complementary feeding was assessed with a survey directed at mothers, the nutritional status was determined with the growth curves of the MSP for children under 5 years of age and the psychomotor development by means of the Denver Test. Complementary feeding was adequate in 51.85% (n=28) of the infants and inadequate in 48.15% (n=26). 57.41% (n=31) had a normal nutritional status, 31.48% (n=17) had chronic malnutrition, 18.52% (n=10) were men and 12.96% (n=7) women; 9.26% (n=5) risk of overweight and 1.85% (n=1) obesity. Psychomotor development was normal in 48.15% (n=26), abnormal in 31.48% (n=17), where 18.52% (n=10) were women and 12.96% (n=7) males; and doubtful in 20.37% (n=11). When relating the variables, a statistically significant relationship was found (p=0.002/p=0.004), which is why it is concluded that the quality of complementary feeding influences the physical-psychomotor development of infants.
