| Summary: | The present investigation study has as goal to develop the locomotive abilities through recreational games in the students of second year, class A of Basic General Education of “Adolfo Valarezo” School, 2023-2024. It was used a combined focus, with quasi-experimental design and of correlational type with the support of different methods such as inductive, deductive, statistical and descriptive. Some diagnostic instruments were applied to a sample of 26 students, for example a pretest. In the results obtained with the applied instruments it is possible to observe the importance of the development of recreational games, so that children be able to improve the locomotive abilities, feel the fun, the camaraderie, and the creativity in some activities that can interfere and arouse positive emotions. Hence, it is important to include in the proposal lesson plans focused on recreational games, with activities related to the curricular block of recreational practices, the game and playing. In order to verify the application of the proposal, it was used an instrument or posttest, which permitted to evidence a remarkable improvement in the locomotive abilities based on activities proposed in the proposal during the 24 classes held. It was concluded that before the application of the proposal there were some gaps in aspects like motivation, desire to participate, aspiration of personal growth and the role to fulfill; however, with the application of the proposal and the use of Ulrich posttest, these aspects improved demonstrating this way the effectiveness of the pedagogical proposal based on the recreational games to develop the locomotive abilities.
