Riassunto:The structural geological survey at a scale of 1:1.000, carried out on the section of the Solamar – Solamar Alto Road, El Valle parish, north of the Loja canton, Loja province, covers an area of 153.72ha and is characterized due to the domain of mountainous and very high hilly reliefs with slopes ranging from very steep (15 – 35°) to steep (35 – 55°). Hydrographically, the study area contains the Guambo and Puralta streams, which correspond to being tributaries of the Zamora River basin. The main aim of this research is to determine the structural geological conditions of the area, the geological characterization was carried out using the outcrop mapping method, from which the presence of two lithological units has been identified; Agoyán Unit, being predominant in the area with 96.16% of it being composed of metamorphic material such as biotite schists, which for representation and detail in the structural geological cartography, it was considered to differentiate them according to the degree of alteration, among them being low alteration shales exposed to the NE and SW of the area, with an area of 16.00 ha equivalent to 10.41% of the total territory. Likewise, medium alteration schists were present with a greater presence to the NE and in a less proportion to the SW, comprising a total of 20.86 ha corresponding to 13.57% of the area and, finally, in this metamorphic unit, high alteration schists were evident, located widely distributed throughout the polygon from the NE to the SW, covering 110.96 ha, concerning 72.18% of the total territorial area. As for the second lithological unit, this corresponds to intrusive rocks composed of granodiorite, which is exposed to the NE of the area on a small surface, reaching 3.84% corresponding to 5.90 ha of the total area, and of which, microscopically it has been identified that it has a mottled gray color with shades of black and white, with mineralogical content composed mainly of plagioclase, potassium feldspar, quartz, biotite and to a less extent hornblende. In reference to structural geology, the area is characterized by the presence of a synclinal microfold and a lithological contact observed in the field, in addition, three inferred faults and a periclinal structure identified through photointerpretation.
