| Gaia: | This research aims to compare the effectiveness of Alveogyl and the Zinc Oxide and Eugenol dressing in the treatment of pain after tooth extraction, demonstrating their effectiveness as pain relievers in dental practice.A comparative, observational and cross-sectional study was carried out, for which convenience random sampling was used, and three study groups were established, with a total of 33 extracted teeth. Once, the dental extractions were performed, the respective dressings were placed according to the assigned groups, the postoperative pain controls were performed at 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 days later, using the Numerical Visual Pain Scale. The results showed that both the use of Alveogyl dressing and that of Zinc Oxide and Eugenol have analgesic properties, both are effective for post-extraction pain control. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the process of comparing dental dressings over time and in the population studied. Keywords: pain, surgery, medications, socket |
