| Summary: | In the telecommunications industry, specifically in the mass market service of Fiber to the Home, providers are increasingly focusing on resource savings, and faster deployment to ensure quality and timely customer service through a reliable transmission medium such as optical fiber. With the emergence of new elements in the market, such as unbalanced splitters, new opportunities arise for the design and construction of optical fiber networks for mass services using GPON technology. This proposed topic aims to analyze the structure, function, and implementation of these networks based on their characteristics and operational aspects. The analysis involves comparing a traditional network defined by its structure to a numerically defined network based on manufacturer specifications. The performance of an ODN is examined by comparing its primary characteristic, which is attenuation measured in decibels (dB). Keywords: Optical fiber, Fiber to the Home, ISP, unbalanced splitter, ODN, GPON. |
