This proposed topic aims to analyze the structure, function, and implementation of these networks based on their characteristics and operational aspects. The analysis involves comparing a traditional network defined by its structure to a numerically defined network based on manufacturer specifications. The performance of an ODN is examined by comparing its primary characteristic, which is attenuation measured in decibels (dB). Keywords: Optical fiber, Fiber to the Home, ISP, unbalanced splitter, ODN, GPON.En el entorno de las telecomunicaciones como negocio masivo en el servicio FTTH fiber to the home, algunos proveedores cada día tienen en mente el ahorro de recursos y el despliegue masivo en un tiempo menor como exigencia de calidad y atención al cliente de manera oportuna mediante un medio de transmisión fiable como lo es la fibra óptica. Con la llegada de nuevos elementos al mercado como son los splitter desbalanceados se abre una brecha de nuevas formas de diseño y construcción de redes de fibra óptica para servicios masivos mediante GPON, es por ello por lo que el tema propuesto se basa en el análisis de la estructura de estas redes, su función y como se podría implementar basado en sus características y funcionamiento Este análisis se basa en presentar una comparación entre una red tradicional definida y su estructura, y mediante la revisión de numérica definida por especificaciones técnicas de fabricante, observar el comportamiento del desempeño de una red ODN, mediante la comparación de su principal característica que es la atenuación medida en decibeles (dB).
