| Summary: | The cervix cancer continues being an important Health problem all over the world; it is a relevant cause of morbidity and mortality. This is the second kind of cancer commonly found in women, 528.000 is the number of determined cases yearly. The present research work has as objective: Identify the risk factors to cervix cancer according to the age, civil state, occupation, level of education and sexual partners in the sexually active women of Capulí neighborhood in Loja city; in addition, to know if these women make the exfoliative cervical cytology; finally, to evaluate the knowledge about of cervix cancer and it´s prevention. It was related to a descriptive research, prospective and transversal in which the investigator applied a survey to 51 women in the Capuli neighborhood, those women have criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The statistics analysis was made through the Excel program; after that, the results were set up using statistical tables. Then, the researcher established as conclusions that the risk factors to cervix cancer more important are multiparity in a 64% and the lack of condom usage before having sex with a 88%. According to the exfoliative cytology in a 39% of the women had made it with an interval of 1 and 2 years; 51% of the women do not know about the human papilloma virus and its transmission, ant the 63% of them do not know anything about the prevention of the cervix cancer.
