Итог: | One of the main factors for endodontic failure are the microorganisms, capable of resisting disinfection agents and adapting to hostile environments. The general objective of this study is to identify the microorganisms that cause endodontic failure. This study was carried out by means of a bibliographic review of the search in databases such as: PUBMED, ELSEVIER, SCIELO, SCIENCEDIRECT, MEDLINE, DIALNET, LILACS. There are several microorganisms that survive in root canals despite pretreatment such as: E. faecalis, propiniumbacterium propinicum, C albicans, Streptococcus, staphylococcus, according to several hypotheses the resistance of E. faecalis is determined by the entry into the dentinal tubules preventing it from being eliminated by disinfection agents, propiniumbacterium has the ability to resist sodium hypochlorite, C. albicans can adapt to any hostile environment, advantageously there are alternatives for treatment in case of endodontic failure that aim to maintain teeth in the mouth and greater longevity, such as: non- surgical and surgical retreatments, or a combination of both, but if in the case that the above treatments cannot be chosen, there is another alternative before performing the exodontia, it is the intentional reimplantation, also can be used high concentrations to 5.25% of sodium hypochlorite to fight against microorganisms, taking into account that intra-canal medication also allows us a better result, especially in post-treatment apical retreatments and periodontitis. Key words: Endodontics, Microorganisms, Retreatment, Reimplantation |
