Tóm tắt:This research titled ABACUS USE SKILL TO ENHANCE THE TROUBLE WITH ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION OF MATHEMATICS AREA IN CHILDREN OF THIRD GRADE OF BASIC EDUCATION SCHOOL JARAMILLO JOSE MARIA SUAREZ, THE DISTRICT OF THE CITY SOLAMAR Loja, school period 2014-2015, the general objective, using the abacus to promote the development of problem solving skills with addition and subtraction, in the area of mathematics in third grade students of Basic General Education School Jose Maria Jaramillo of Solamar neighborhood parish Valle canton and province of Loja. The type of study was quasi-experimental, transversal, descriptive field and a series of methods such as analytical, synthetic and observation was used. Techniques were employed such as signing for the analysis of literature sources and survey data collection through questionnaire questions to students and faculty. The population was under investigation consisted of nine students and one teacher. With the application of the alternatives it was achieved for students of the School José Maria Jaramillo Suarez know Soroban abacus properly use and their use in solving problems. Thus it was concluded that the abacus is an ideal tool for learning mathematics in third grade children, helping them to create cognitive abilities necessary to solve real life problems.
