| Sažetak: | The purpose of this research is determining how miscarriages influence the depressive episodes of the women who enter the OB-GYN area of Isidro Ayora Hospital. The present investigation is of the descriptive type with a quantitative and qualitative focus, of cross-sectioning which will manage scientific methods such as: analytic, synthetic, inductive, deductive and empirical methods that are supported in the use of techniques and instruments such as direct observation, a structured survey and inventory of Beck's Depression; which permit the identification the causes of miscarriage, where 47% manifested that they did not know the apparent cause of the miscarriage due to not being provided an explication or reason by the medical personnel. However, 20% had taken into account the stress factor that they suffered during the first days of conception as the apparent cause of the miscarriage. The results were overwhelming in the presence of depressive symptoms, with 24 of the total of 20 patients presenting depressive episodes of different intensities (l30% light, 27% moderate and 23% serious). The stated results allow for the conclusion that women who suffered a miscarriage presented depressive symptoms in different levels (light, moderate and serious) during the subscribed diagnosis by the medic and later with the realization of curettage; they expressed symptoms such as sadness, anhedonia, feeling blue, tiredness, easy weeping, difficulty falling asleep and an increase and decrease in appetite. Key Words: miscarriage, depressive episodes, post-abortion syndrome. |
