Aplicación de medidas preventivas sobre el vih-sida en jóvenes estudiantes de bachillerato del Instituto Juan XXIII del cantón Yantzaza, en el año 2014

This study aims to determine the application of preventive measures and knowledge in high school students from the Juan XXIII Institute Yantzaza Canton in 2014. It intends to further implement preventive strategies. The type of study was descriptive, prospective is a quantitative approach carried out with students of a public institution of secondary education, with a sample of 157 students, for the purpose of data collection was selected as technical: the survey, and as the survey instrument, then content analysis for information processing was performed. The categories obtained were of the male students and female 41.40% to 58.60%, in which 95.54% demonstrate high knowledge of HIV / AIDS and 4.46% showed low knowledge. It was felt that young people have knowledge about the means of transmission of HIV-AIDS with 95%. In terms of prevention it was observed that young people recognize the need for promotional campaigns by the Ministry of Public Health. In quantitative terms, adequate knowledge of HIV-AIDS was found. Qualitatively, they noted as risk factors the lack of information about HIV, sexuality and invulnerability. Even when they believe they could become infected estimate that this would be of unprotected sex. In conclusion it is evident that young people have knowledge about AIDS, but the lack of perception of risk hampering prevention efforts and reduce the application of preventive measures. The proposal is executed implementing training workshops, continuing by the Ministry of Public Health and the suggestion in the management of an exclusive material on sexuality for young people within the institution
