Shrnutí:The present study to assess the risk of developing diabetes mellitus type 2 through the Findrisk test in the population of the Sucre parish in the cantonal canton of Loja, was carried out through a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, whose objectives were: the 10-year risk to develop Type 2 Diabetes mellitus by applying the Findrisk test, knowing the main risk factors, determining the age and gender at greatest risk and the subsequent development of a prevention proposal; applying the survey to 253 inhabitants, sample taken at random, with the inclusion and exclusion criteria, it was found that the risk of developing type 2 diabetes in this population is low with 47%, slightly low risk with 38%, moderate risk 7%, while in its minority a High risk with 8% and very High with 1% to develop Diabetes Mellitus type 2, under current conditions. In the risk factors, the female sex predominates in the ages of 35 to 54 years, the results determined that 8% of the people presented high risk, and 1% very high of suffering diabetes mellitus type 2 in the next 10 years ( Findrisk> = 15), 29% had high abdominal perimeter and 43% and 17% were overweight and obese respectively, 53% said not to do physical activity, 45% did not consume fruits and vegetables, 3% took medication for hypertension, 9% had high glucose values, 26% had a second degree background and 18% had a first degree, in other words a risk.
