Conocimiento de las madres sobre inmunizaciones en niños menores de 2 años que acuden al Centro de Salud Tipo A Daniel Álvarez Burneo

The Expanded Program on Immunization is a joint action of the world's nations sand international organizations interested in supporting actions to achieve universal vaccination coverage in order to reduce mortality and morbidity from vaccine-preventable diseases. Immunization is an essential component of the human right to health; It is the responsibility of individuals, communities, governments and should be considered as such. Thanks to vaccination 2.5 million preventable deaths each year. Children protected from vaccine-preventable diseases have the opportunity to develop and more likely to achieve their full potential. This research has the overall objective to characterize the knowledge they have mothers about immunizations in children younger than 2 years who come to the health center type "Daniel Álvarez Burneo" of the city of Loja, the methodology used was descriptive, it is He worked with 100 mothers to obtain information a survey was applied. From the results it can show more than 50% of mothers surveyed have knowledge of vaccine, age of the child to receive them and the corresponding number of doses, but likewise over 50% of respondents do not know about the disease that prevents each vaccine. These results demonstrate that vaccines greater percentage know mothers are: BCG, yellow fever Rotavirus, Varicella, Hepatitis B, polio and viral duo, however most of those surveyed do not know the protection provided by the vaccine-preventable diseases biological children who are administered for the first 2 years of his life.
