| Summary: | The coronary microfiltration is one of the triggering factors of the post-treatment disease, due to the invasion of microorganisms into the root canals. The objective of the current study was to compare the coronal microfiltration degree among three types of materials: Vitrebond Tm Plus (3m), Ionoseal (Voco) and Glass Liner (Wp Dental), as definitive coronal sealing material when placed on the floor of the pulp chamber. An experimental in vitro, descriptive and transversal study was conducted; the sample consisted of 50 single-rooted teeth, after that the biomechanical preparation and the obturation of root canals using lateral compaction technique, 3 mm of guttapercha were removed and the materials were placed dividing them into 5 groups of 10 teeth each one: Group 1 : Sealed with Ionoseal; Group 2: Sealed with Vitrebond; Group 3: Sealed with Glass Liner; Group 4: Positive control, without any protection, and Group 5: Negative control, sealed with varnish. The five groups were exposed to 100 thermocycling cycles and dipped in Chinese ink for 48 hours (Passive penetration) at 37°C; then which clinical crowns were eliminated and dental roots were sectioned in lobby-palatal sense and proceeded to its observation by optical microscope 4X and photographs examined with the Adobe Illustrator program; data was recorded on information sheets and analyzed through ANOVA and TUKEY statistic tests. As a result, it was obtained that the three materials presented microfiltration, but nevertheless, the one which presented a higher microfiltration was the Ionoseal with a 100% compared to the Glass Liner which presented 10% of coronal microfiltration; statistically existed significant differences when relating the Ionoseal (p=2,60) with Glass Liner (p=0,30) and Vitrebond (p=1,00). Keywords: Coronal Microfiltration, Endodontic, Ionoseal, Vitrebond and Glass Liner. |
