Etiketle | Özet: | Was conducted a study at Isidro Ayora Hospital of Loja city in the pediatric area, from May to October 2011 with the purpose of verifying the clinical use of bronchodilators in children under 5 years in the treatment of pneumonia. The sample comprised 100 patients aged 1 month to 5 years of diagnosis of pneumonia showed any degree of severity. Patients were divided into age range included in the AIEPI treatment guidelines. The main results were: The use of bronchodilators is common practice in the management of pneumonia in children under 5years admitted to the Hospital "Isidro Ayora" in Loja.In more than a third of the cases treated with bronchodilators was not found written reference to clinical signs or radiological justifyits use. In 100% of prescriptions given bronchodilator drugs were included in the Essential Drug List in Ecuador and Essential DrugList of MSP.
