| Résumé: | Anemia is a public health problem, associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality especially in infants, causing many problems in the development of the infant. Therefore, the present study was carried out in which the main objective was: to establish the prevalence of anemia in infants up to six months old attended at the health center N2 Hugo Guillermo Gonzales. While the specific objectives were: to identify gender and age of prevalence, type of anemia and risk factor, type of diet and the relationship with anemia. The universe that was considered to carry out the study was constituted by 600 infants of whom 193 were diagnosed of anemia; Being that 32% of the infants had anemia. According to the results the anemia was more frequent in the masculine gender with 56% in an age between 2 to 4 months with 43%. The most relevant anemia was mild anemia, which presented 58%; It was also detected that the risk factor that influenced the appearance of anemia were: age of the mother between 20 and 30 years old with 71%, multiparity 64%, presence of anemia during gestation 48%, 39% received mixed breastfeeding and 61% exclusive breastfeeding. It is therefore concluded that that mild anemia was the highest prevalence in children less than six months. Key words: anemia, feeding type, gender, age and risk factors. |
