| Zusammenfassung: | Facebook has become the main means of dissemination of fake news, to the point of being considered a big problem for those who are in permanent contact with this social network, which has been an important part as a means of dissemination for all kinds of information. But as is common knowledge, not everything we see on the web turns out to be true and from reliable sources, this research was able to work efficiently to provide a solution to the proper handling of information, so that when browsing and encountering any data, we know how to differentiate the real from the fake news. This study is of transcendental importance, since its objective was to analyze the social influence of Facebook as a means of dissemination of fake news among high school students of the "Abdón Calderón Muñoz" school in the parish of Santiago, canton Loja. Period May-July 2022. The methodology applied was a mixed approach, since it integrated qualitative and quantitative methods, and through tools such as the survey, focus group, interviews and bibliographic analysis, it was possible to facilitate data collection. The results obtained show that the students of the educational establishment are prone to believe in false information, due to the fact that they do not have adequate training to help them differentiate between what is real and what is false and to create critical thinking. In addition, this information has an impact on education, since young people consider Facebook as a source of information, without contrasting whether what they consume helps them to improve in the educational field or harms them. Finally, it was concluded that Facebook influences both positively and negatively the students of the Abdón Calderón Muñoz school, besides being one of the most consumed social networks with the mitigating factor of not knowing how to discern between real and false information.
