الملخص:The present study examines the impact of the implementation of an artisanal feed on the production of creole hen eggs in the Palmales parish, Arenillas canton. The study focuses mainly on improving egg productivity by formulating a balanced diet with local raw materials. The study lasted five weeks, using 30 experimental units (creole hens) divided into two treatments with three replicates. The study variables were the number and weight of eggs produced, percentage of eggs laid, feed conversion, feed consumption, weight gain and yolk pigmentation. For the statistical analysis, ANOVA and comparison of means with Tukey's test (P 0.05) were performed. The results showed that the T2 treatment obtained 2.85 kg, higher percentage of egg production by 74 % with an average weight of 52.96 grams, the yolk coloration on a colorimetric scale from 1 to 10 obtained an average result of 10 and in turn obtained the best profitability of 34 %. It is concluded that the use of an artisanal feed with local raw materials constitutes a feeding strategy for the production of eggs from native hens, which benefits small and medium poultry farmers.
