Beskrivelse
Summary:This research paper, titled "Alcohol Consumption and Academic Underachievement among Students of Bernardo Valdivieso High School: A Social Work Perspective," focuses on analyzing the relationship between alcohol consumption and academic performance among first-year high school students in parallel classes C and D. The methodology employed was exploratory and descriptive in design, where the exploratory component helped identify and understand lesser-known aspects of alcohol consumption and its effects on academic performance. The technique utilized was a survey administered to students in first-year high school classes C and D. The results indicated that due to alcohol consumption, students' academic performance was notably poor, highlighting the urgent need to address this issue. The primary findings of the research reveal that within Bernardo Valdivieso High School, there is a significant prevalence of alcohol consumption among first-year high school students in classes C and D. This has resulted in poor grades across various subjects. Alcohol consumption in this student population has been identified as a contributing factor to reduced concentration, memory deterioration, and behavioral changes, all of which negatively impact academic performance. This study aims to facilitate appropriate monitoring and enhancement of students' capabilities, as well as to provide information on the prevention of alcohol consumption.
