| Summary: | The glycosylated hemoglobin plays a fundamental role in the control of diabetes mellitus, this one measures the degree of glucose that joins to the hemoglobin, helps in the managing of the treatment of the diabetics, fundamental aspect that was taken into account to develop the determination of glycosylated hemoglobin and basal glucose as methods of control of diabetes mellitus type II in people who come to the medical clinic of the Rumizhitana neighborhood. This study is descriptive, prospective of cross-section. For the gathering of the information, surveys were applied to the diabetic people who came to the medical clinic of the Rumizhitana neighborhood, who were diagnosed with glycosylated hemoglobin and basal glucose, with the following results: 42 % and 49 % presented elevated values of glycosylated hemoglobin and basal glucose respectively; 12 % presented elevated values of glycosylated hemoglobin and normal values of glucose, 23 % presented elevated values of basal glucose and normal values of glycosylated hemoglobin and 30 % presented elevated values of basal glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin; on having related the values obtained with determinant parameters in the evolution of the pathology, such as physical exercise, periodic control, diet and suffering of the disease for more than one year, we find that: 87 % are not on a diet, 62 % does not come to medical control from time to time, 91 % suffer diabetes mellitus since more than one year, and 100% do not do physical activity, which allows the doctor to evaluate the treatment of the disease, to take decisions about of the most appropriate therapy and to contribute in the managing of the diabetes. Keywords: glycosylated hemoglobin, basal glucose, diabetes mellitus type II, laboratory tests. |
