Shrnutí:The study was intended to determine the incidence of acute diarrheal disease in children under 5 years seen in the emergency area Basic Yantzaza Hospital, Canton Yantzaza. Observational, transversal, descriptive and bibliographic: 2015 for this research types were used. the encuesta and direct observation techniques and questionnaire as a guide as an instrument applied to 59 mothers of children seen in the emergency area of acute diarrheal disease diagnosed EDA was used. The results were: The incidence of ADD in children under 5 years was 17.50%. With 47.46% predominates the age of 1 and 2 years, 57.63% in males, mixed race ethnicity with 52,54% and 55,93% the urban residence. The factors associated with the disease are: failure of exclusive breastfeeding at 10.17%, using bottles with 89.83%, grooming bottles with soap at 94.34%, no change bottle with 45.28% and after 4 months use with 26.42%. Dietary factors include complementary feeding before 6 months with 76.27%, the same as are soups in a 47.46%, fruits and fruit juices in a 38.98% and cow's milk with 10.17%. The lack of sanitation is of 23.73%. an action plan based nursing education to increase knowledge in mothers of children (as) with EDA developed.
