| Sumari: | Assessing entrepreneurial capacity in university students is essential for promoting economic and social development by identifying key skills such as creativity, resilience, and leadership, which are essential for strengthening the city's entrepreneurial ecosystem. The overall objective of this research was to evaluate the factors that influence university students' entrepreneurial capacity, focusing on the development and fostering of an entrepreneurial spirit. To achieve this goal, we assessed key competencies such as creativity, leadership, resilience, and management skills in students from various university programs. We also sought to identify the main strengths and weaknesses related to entrepreneurial capacity in this group. We also analyzed the relationship between this capacity and entrepreneurial intent, considering their participation in entrepreneurial activities and their job placement within the local context. A mixed approach was used, combining quantitative methods through surveys administered to 339 students from administrative, technological, and health programs, and qualitative methods exploring entrepreneurial attitudes. The data were analyzed using the deductive method to identify factors that influence entrepreneurial capacity. The study was descriptive and exploratory. The results show that, although many students have a strong entrepreneurial intention, lack of experience remains a significant obstacle. It was observed that they have notable skills in creativity and leadership but need to improve in management and communication. The importance of the study lies in the need to promote economic and social development by identifying key skills such as creativity, resilience, critical thinking, and leadership, which are essential components of entrepreneurial capacity that enhance entrepreneurship. The students present a positive entrepreneurial profile; however, their skills need to be strengthened so they can develop their full potential as entrepreneurs and, in turn, contribute to economic development. |
