Summary:The present Curricular Integration Work is established with the objective of: Analyzing the relationship between the cognitive state and the educational level of the elderly in the residential center for the elderly "Rincón de Amor" of the Malacatos parish. The research had a mixed approach, descriptive, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, the scientific, deductive, inductive, synthetic and hypothetical method was used. For this, information was collected from 16 older adults of both sexes, aged between 60 and 95 years, the system of instruments for the collection of information was composed by the mini-mental cognitive test and the semi-structured interview. After analyzing the obtained results, it can be determined that the cognitive status in older adults is in a state of deterioration between Mild, Moderate and Severe, the most significant being moderate with 50%; Regarding the sociodemographic profile, 62.5% of the participants correspond to the male sex, with respect to the educational level, among the most significant is the middle basic level with 33.3% followed by 25% the Elementary Basic level. Regarding the application of the chi-square test, a result of 6.622 was obtained, with which it can be understood that no significant relationship was found between the variables. For this reason, the null hypothesis is accepted and the alternate hypothesis is rejected. Regarding the semi-structured interview, important characteristics were known among them: that the prevailing gender is male, institutionalized adults most of them were abandoned, who do not possess economic resources, very low level of education, and most of them present pathologies typical of advanced age. In conclusion, the cognitive state that prevails is mild and moderate, the level of schooling that prevails is the basic, and, as there is no relationship between the variables, adults present a cognitive state typical of an advanced age.
