| 要約: | Obesity in children represents a pathology of worldwide prevalence. Risk factors such as family history, low income, social stereotypes, among others, predispose to the disease. Its prevention requires maintaining a balance between food and physical activity. As childhood obesity is an important public health problem, this quantitative, prospective, cross-sectional study proposed to characterize sociodemographically, determine nutritional status and identify risk factors for obesity in students of the Educational Unit 8 de Diciembre of the San Parish. Pedro de la Bendita in the period September 2019-August 2020. For this, the following were applied: a data collection sheet where the sociodemographic variables were collected, the endorsed questionnaire of health habits related to childhood overweight / obesity obtained from the Mexican journal of eating disorders, as well as the physical activity questionnaire from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology. It was observed that 54.46% (n = 55) were male and 45.54% (n = 46) female, 16.83% (n = 17) were 8-year-old schoolchildren, 76.24% ( n = 76) live in San Pedro de la Bendita, 43.57% (n = 44) belong to households with sufficient economic status, 15.84% (n = 16) are overweight and 4.95% (n = 5) obesity, who perform physical activity between good and regular, with unhealthy eating habits, have insufficient financial resources 80% (n = 4), followed by a family history of being overweight 20% (n = 1) and a personal history of obesity 20% (n = 1).
