The diagnosis of leptospirosis was carried out using the MAT test, while for brucellosis, the Rose Bengal test was considered for screening and ELISAc for confirmation. The analyses revealed a frequency of 42% of seropositive animals for leptospirosis, detecting the serovars Pomona, Andamana, Patoc, and Autumnalis. In contrast, no seropositive animals were found for Brucella spp. The results demonstrate a high frequency of Leptospira spp. presence in goats in the region, possibly related to environmental and management factors, as neither genre nor age were associated with the leptospirosis results. It is crucial to implement preventive measures, such as vaccination, to mitigate the impact of leptospirosis, along with effective biosecurity measures to prevent epidemic events that affect public health, animal health, and, consequently, the local economy. |

El diagnóstico de leptospirosis se realizó mediante MAT, mientras que para el de brucelosis se consideró hacer Rosa de Bengala, como prueba de tamizaje y ELISAc para confirmación. Los análisis revelaron una frecuencia del 42% de animales seropositivos para leptospirosis, habiéndose detectado los serovares Pomona, Andamana, Patoc y Autumnalis; en tanto que no se encontraron animales seropositivos para Brucella spp. Los resultados demuestran una alta frecuencia de la presencia de Leptospira spp., en cabras la región, posiblemente relacionada con factores ambientales y de manejo, ya que ni el sexo ni la edad estuvieron asociados a los resultados de leptospirosis.
