| Summary: | Financial education allows you to acquire knowledge about the financial products and services offered by banking institutions, cooperatives, mutualists, savings banks, among others, to achieve a better economic organization for the future. However, there is still a percentage of the Ecuadorian population that does not make adequate use of the financial tools offered by the financial system, especially the most vulnerable people, such as those living in rural areas. The objective of this study was to determine the behavior of savings in the parish of Vilcabamba, using a gender approach. A descriptive methodology was applied, through the use of analytical, inductive, deductive and synthetic methods, as well as the management of bibliographic research techniques, observation and empirical treatments. Through the application of the survey, important information was collected, applied to a sample of 355 people, where it was discovered that 62.82% of surveyed save, but savings are interrupted due to ignorance of the importance of savings according to the results obtained. Likewise, 37.18% do not save mainly because of low incomes and little control over their earnings. Through the “Chi Cuadrado” test statistic, it was evidenced that saving is not related to gender. Likewise, it was demonstrated that it is necessary to implement financial strategies to strengthen the savings culture. It was concluded that there is no culture of savings in the population, on the other hand, it was demonstrated that there is no relationship between the variables gender and savings, finally it was necessary to establish strategies focused on improving decision-making in personal finances through a guide to counteract financial shortcomings. |
