Resumo:The present research consists of the Optimization of the exploitation system for the extraction of arid and stone materials in the mining area "El Breo, Code 110353002" located in Los Encuentros sector, Catamayo parish and canton, Loja province, which has an extension of 140 contiguous mining hectares. The purpose of the research is to present a proposal for the optimization of the exploitation system for the extraction of construction materials, which allows improving the efficiency of the processes and activities, taking into account technical-economic and environmental parameters. For the development of the present investigation, the available bibliographic information of the sector was initially compiled and analyzed and together with the information collected in the field and worked on in the office, it was possible to characterize the study area in regards to its geology, topography, reserves and exploitation volumes. Then, it proceeded to learn the current situation of the area, the processes and activities that take place during the working day, all this through direct observation and a detailed record in the field, allowing the identification of parameters such as: infrastructure, equipment capacity and performance of the machinery used in each phase of the exploitation system, also the daily production was determined, which allowed determining the value per cubic meter of material extracted with the current system. For the choice of the optimized system, criteria like security, topography and geology were considered, in addition a multicriteria analysis was used where two alternatives were compared in relation to their environmental, economic, productive and technical advantages and disadvantages, these parameters permitted determining the new system of exploitation called "Transversal Dikes" as the most appropriate option from the point of view of optimization. Lastly, an analysis of the adjustments and costs to be used to achieve the optimization conditions was carried out, which allowed defining the viability of the optimized system.
