| Итог: | The water availability in the micro-watersheds is influenced by geological characteristics, land use, vegetation cover and anthropogenic activities such as agriculture and livestock. The objective of this investigation was to analyze the water availability in the micro-basins that generate water for the irrigation systems located in the upper basin of the Catamayo River; and, relate it to the changes in land use that have occurred in the area. The availability of the water resource in the five catchment micro-basins was determined based on the information collected from a previous research work. The results obtained reflect for the period 2010-2022 a runoff coefficient of: La Palmira, Campana- Malacatos, Quinara, Vilcabamba varied 0.42 - 0.44; while The Era varied between 0.53 – 0.56. Therefore, the vegetation cover significantly influences the runoff coefficient. The general duration curve did not present variation, under conditions of 75% probability a flow of 50, 40, 250, 300 and 250 l/s was obtained for the aforementioned micro-basins respectively. Additionally, a proposal for soil management and conservation was made based mainly on revegetation and other strategies such as: individual terraces, crop residue management, infiltration ditches, green manures and partial soil cover, live barriers, dead barriers, minimum tillage, contour furrows, revegetation of slopes and containment dikes. All of them to prevent water and wind erosion of the soil, for a sustainable future in the different micro-basins. Keywords: Micro-watershed, runoff coefficient, hydrology, revegetation. |
