| Sumari: | Anthropic activities such as agriculture, livestock, population expansion, industrial growth and urban development are the main precursors of the change in coverage and land use, which leads to the loss of biodiversity, alteration of ecosystems and degradation of forests. The present study was applied in the upper basin of the Zamora or Hoya de Loja river, where Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems were used for the semi-automatic methodological development applied; through the use of ArcGis and QGis - Semi Automatic Classification Plugin extension, the change of coverage and land use between 2001 and 2016 was determined, as well as the use of FRAGSTATS allowed to establish the state of fragmentation of the area, followed by the identification of connectivity models was carried out through GUIDOS and finally the generation of a future scenario for the year 2030 of the coverage and land use executed in TerrSet - extension Land Change Modeler. In the upper basin of the Zamora River, moorland coverage lost 458 ha (-1.66%) of extension, while the forests increased 831 ha (+2.99%) of area, nevertheless the forest areas have a high index of fragmentation and the moorlands are prone to fragment quickly. In addition, they have a joint probability (high and very high) of 11.37% for the moorland coverage and 7.34% for forest coverage, to undergo changes in the year 2030. The connectivity models are an important tool to counteract the changes produced and to be produced within the work area, for which zoning maps are presented as a support instrument, for its possible application or as a reference for future studies. Key words: Land Change - Fragmentation - Connectivity – Land modeling - Loja. |
