| description | The present research allows to understand the photometric parameters that must be met for the proper design of tunnel lighting systems, as well as the appropriate procedure to follow, in order to comply with the parameters defined in international regulations and ensure people’s safety who use these means to move from one place to another. Through an analytical methodology of different calculation methods to determine the required luminance levels in each of the sections that compose a tunnel, a calculation guide was developed that provides designers with the necessary tools to correctly and efficiently design these systems. To carry out the photometric simulations, specialized software tools were utilized to evaluate the light distribution of the selected luminaires and their positioning within the tunnel, as well as to analyze the proposed design. To validate the proposed guide, the procedure was applied to a real case, specifically to the "Túnel de los Ahorcados" located in the city of Loja. Photometric simulations were conducted using the DIALux software, and luminaires from the manufacturer Schréder were chosen, meeting the constructive requirements for this type of environment. The results obtained from the simulations were compared with the photometric parameters set by the CIE 88:2004 standard, concluding that the results obtained from the guide are greater or equal to than the requirements established in the standard. El presente trabajo de investigación permite conocer los parámetros fotométricos que se deben cumplir para el correcto dimensionamiento de los sistemas de iluminación para túneles, así mismo el procedimiento adecuado a seguir, con la finalidad de cumplir con los parámetros definidos en normativas internacionales y así garantizar la seguridad de los usuarios que hacen uso de estos medios para trasladarse de un lugar a otro. Mediante una metodología analítica de los diferentes métodos de cálculos para determinar los niveles de luminancia requeridos en cada una de las secciones que componen un túnel, se desarrolló una guía de cálculo que proporciona a los proyectistas las herramientas necesarias para dimensionar estos sistemas de manera correcta y eficiente. Para llevar a cabo las simulaciones fotométricas, se utilizaron herramientas de softwares especializados que permitieron evaluar la distribución de luz de las de las luminarias seleccionadas y su posición dentro del túnel, además de analizar el diseño plantado. Para la validación de la guía planteada se aplicó el procedimiento a un caso real, en este caso al Túnel de los Ahorcados, ubicado en la ciudad de Loja, las simulaciones fotométricas se llevaron a cabo en el software DIALux, las luminarias se seleccionaron del fabricante Schréder, las cuales cumplen con los requerimientos constructivos para este tipo de ambientes. Los resultados obtenidos de las simulaciones se compararon con los parámetros fotométricos planteados por la normativa CIE 88:2004, concluyendo así que los resultados obtenidos de la guía plantean son mayores o iguales a los requerimientos establecidos en la norma.
