| Riassunto: | The purpose of this research work was to estimate the seroprevalence of bovine viral diarrhea and the risk factors associated with it, in El Pangui canton (Zamora Chinchipe province), for which 182 bovine serum samples were used. Bovine females that were analyzed by the competition ELISA test for the detection of antibodies against the p80 protein (NSP2-3) of the vDVB virus. The independent variables that were considered were: origin, breed, type of farm, farm size, origin of replacement animals, age, type of management, movement of animals between farms, type of order, arrangement of farrowing pens, type of reproduction, presence of abortions, premature births and placental retention in the last year; while the depending variable was the prevalence of Bovine Viral Diarrhea. To determine the association between the dependent and independent variable, the Chi-square goodness-of-fit tests and/ or Fisher's test will be used, considering P values less than or equal to 0.05 as statistically significant. The program was used to perform the analyzes. "R". The estimated prevalence of bovine viral diarrhea was 42.31 % in the El Pangui canton, Tundayme parish had the highest percentage of positive animals (54.5 %) here, differences (p<0.05) with the others were evidenced parishes. The risk of infection of the bovines of the parish El Pangui. Pachicutza and Tundayme is higher (OR>1) than in El Guismi parish. Likewise, the association factors such as type of management, replacement animals, type of milking and age. They are risk factors that influence so that animals are predisposing to have the disease. This is related since in these parishes is where more replacements are made of fairs or others and also the type of management and order in these properties are more deficient, than in the El Guismi parish Keywords: Antibodies, Serum, Protein p80. |
