Impacto de la agricultura sobre la contaminación ambiental: un estudio de series de tiempo para Ecuador, periodo 1980-2018
Pollution has increased progressively in Ecuador, which means higher expenses for the government. Methane gas pollution, measured in thousands of metric tons CO2 equivalent at the national level, went from 5286 in 1980 to 11120 in 1997 and in the last year of analysis decreased to 8050. | Shrnutí: | Pollution has increased progressively in Ecuador, which means higher expenses for the government. Methane gas pollution, measured in thousands of metric tons CO2 equivalent at the national level, went from 5286 in 1980 to 11120 in 1997 and in the last year of analysis decreased to 8050. In this context, the present work has the general objective of analyzing the impact of agriculture on environmental pollution in Ecuador: period 1980- 2018. In addition, the World Bank database was used to obtain statistical information on the variables. Likewise, time series methodology and the application of cointegration techniques were used. The results obtained showed that the evolution of the variables tends to experience varied growth over time. In addition, a long-term relationship between agricultural methane gas emissions and agricultural value added was determined using the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model. Subsequently, with the Granger test, bidirectional causality was found. Finally, among the main recommendations is the implementation of green policies to protect biological biodiversity through binational programs for the rational production of both agricultural products and animal production in order to preserve environmental harmony. |
