Recopilación de la música tradicional del pueblo kichwa Saraguro en las fiestas del Kapak Raymi (navidad) en la parroquia San Lucas

The present work entitled "RECOPILATION OF THE TRADITIONAL MUSIC OF THE KICHWA SARAGURO PEOPLE IN THE KAPAK RAYMI (CHRISTMAS) FESTIVITIES IN SAN LUCAS PARISH", allowed to know the traditional music that is interpreted in the festivities of Kapak Raymi and to demonstrate its contribution to the cultural development of San Lucas Parish, in addition it was possible to contextualize that the interpretations in this festivity are transmitted orally from generation to generation. The Kichwa Saraguro people is one of the most important in the country, a reflection of this is its cultural activity; in this context the present work was proposed as a general objective: To contribute with the registration of the repertoire of the Saraguro culture in the festivities of Kapak Raymi through the transcription of the most emblematic songs and thus rescue the works of the locality, for this the research universe was delimited with ten musicians of the locality to whom surveys were applied and an interview guide that was carried out to five Tayta Maestros and five authorities of the San Lucas Parish, giving a total population of twenty people. The methods used were: Scientific Method, Descriptive Method, Deductive Method and Historical Method, which helped the research development. The techniques and instruments applied were: the survey and the interview. Among the main results obtained we can point out that for the authorities, Tayta Maestros and local musicians, it is important the existence of diverse musical works that are interpreted in the Kapak Raymi, since they enrich and contribute to the musical and cultural development of the San Lucas Parish; hence the relevance of carrying out the compilation and transcription of the most emblematic songs of this festivity. In addition, it was concluded that there is little information about the music played in the Kapak Raymi festival, so it is necessary that the new generations continue to participate in this festival, only then it will be possible to stop the phenomenon of globalization that is gradually consuming the customs and traditions of the Kichwa Saraguro people. Therefore, it is recommended to the young musicians and authorities of the parish of San Lucas, to highlight the importance of the music that is interpreted in the festivity of Kapak Raymi and in this way, preserve the customs and traditions of the parish of San Lucas.
