Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas relacionadas con el cuidado de pacientes con VIH/SIDA en los Internos Rotativos de Enfermería de la Universidad Nacional de Loja

HIV / AIDS is a virus that damages the immune system, and in turn weakens the body's defenses. Organizations worldwide show alarming figures of people living with this pathology, therefore, health personnel must be prepared to give an accurate and timely attention. The present investigation, approached like objective to determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices that have the Revolving Interns of Nursing of the National University of Loja in the care of patients with HIV / AIDS, for such effect a descriptive study was carried out; with quantitative approach and cross-section; For this study we worked with a total population of 68 Rotating Nursing Interns. For the collection of information a questionnaire of 23 questions was used, which responded to the proposed objectives. As conclusions, it was obtained that: the level of knowledge that the surveyed population has is with 58.8%, with respect to the pathology; In terms of attitude, 70.6% have an appropriate attitude and, finally, with regard to practices that 58.8% apply the biosafety norms in the care of patients with HIV / AIDS, having a practice adequate Therefore, it is advisable to train health personnel constantly with scientific basis and the competent authorities to provide protective materials, to provide care with quality and warmth.
